Job summary

The Clancy Group Limited is seeking an experienced Stores Supervisor to oversee receiving, storage and distribution operations supporting our Southern Water contract. You will manage day-to-day stores activities, ensuring stock control, accuracy and on-time delivery to project teams.

This role requires strong leadership, familiarity with warehouse management systems, and the ability to coach a small team. Forklift or telehandler operation and a full UK driving licence are essential, with a focus

Responsibilities

• Managing stores operations in line with company policies and objectives
• Maintaining accurate records of plant hire and equipment movements across the business
• Overseeing goods receipt, storage, distribution and maintenance coordination
• Organising stores layout to maximise efficiency and space utilization
• Implementing and maintaining operational procedures and continuous improvements
• Ensuring compliance with handling, storage and transport legislation
• Maintaining high standards of health & safety, hygiene and site security
• Managing stock levels and reconciling inventory with system data
• Liaising with clients, suppliers and transport providers to support delivery
• Planning team rotas, workloads and monitoring performance
• Supporting recruitment, onboarding, coaching and development of team members
• Producing regular performance reports including stock movement and ageing stock analysis
• Monitoring service quality and acting on feedback to improve performance

We have an opportunity for an experienced Stores Supervisor to oversee receiving, storage and distribution operations supporting our Southern Water contract. This role plays an important part in ensuring materials, plant and equipment are managed efficiently, enabling operational teams to deliver works safely and on schedule. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the stores function, ensuring processes operate effectively, productivity targets are achieved, and stock is controlled accurately. Qualifications

• You are an experienced Warehouse or Stores Supervisor with a strong understanding of stores management processes and operational best practice. You will be confident managing day-to-day activities while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and performance.
• You will have experience working with warehouse management systems and databases, alongside a solid understanding of performance measures and operational KPIs. Strong leadership skills are essential, with the ability to support, motivate and guide a team while maintaining clear standards and expectations. You will be an effective communicator with sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities, comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment. Experience operating a forklift or telehandler is required, along with a full UK driving licence.
