Job summary

Stores Person at Lancing College is sought to support catering operations during term time plus eight weeks. You will assist in stock control, temperature checks, deliveries across site and liaison with chefs to ensure quality and safety.

The role requires a full UK driving licence, good communication and customer service, and a proactive, flexible approach to changing priorities and event support. You will attend meetings and assist with functions as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in provision of food to the agreed standard within budgetary limitations.
• Maintain high standards of Hygiene and Health & Safety.
• Check quality, damage, quantity and shelf life of food/beverages delivered to campus.
• Carry out temperature checks and record to required standards.
• Deliver supplies across site and conduct vehicle checks.
• Liaise with Chefs on stock levels and place orders as required.
• Keep Catering department vehicles clean and presented.
• Conduct weekly maintenance checks on delivery van.
• Place and monitor orders using online system.
• Ensure storage areas and refrigeration units are clean and organized.
• Promote a professional image and good customer relations.
• Attend meetings and training; assist with internal/external functions.

Job Title: Stores Person

Reporting to: Head Chef & Head of Catering

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• To assist the management team in the provision of food to the agreed standard within the budgetary limitations.
• To assist in the maintenance of high standards in Hygiene and Health & Safety.
• To ensure that all food and beverages delivered to Lancing College are checked for quality, damage, abnormalities in quantities and shelf life in accordance with College standards.
• To ensure all temperature checks are carried out and recorded to the standard required to company policies.
• To deliver supplies across site and carry out on site and supplier vehicle checks.
• To liaise with the Chefs on stock levels and order stock as and when required.
• To always maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the Catering department’s vehicle.
• To conduct weekly maintenance checks on the Catering department’s delivery van to ensure it remains safe, roadworthy, and in a good working order.
• To place and monitor orders using the Catering department’s online ordering system, ensuring stock requirements are met.
• To ensure the immediate storage areas, main freezer, and refrigeration units are kept clean, organised, and in good working conditions at all times.
• To promote a professional image and good customer relations.
• To carry out any reasonable requests made by the management team.
• To attend meetings and training.
• To assist with internal and external functions when required.
