Job summary

Mercury Hampton Ltd is seeking an experienced Stores & Materials Controller to join our established engineering and manufacturing operation. The role focuses on ensuring stock accuracy, controlling materials and keeping production supplied with essential components and tools.

You will manage goods-in/goods-out, maintain stock records, and coordinate material replenishment while adhering to health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in stores, warehouse or materials control.
• Engineering, manufacturing, welding or fabrication experience preferred.
• Good understanding of stock control and inventory management.
• Experience with goods-in/goods-out processes and purchase orders.
• Forklift licence advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage goods-in and goods-out, checking deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Maintain accurate stock records and inventory levels.
• Control engineering materials, steel components, welding consumables, tools and general supplies.
• Pick, issue and prepare materials for production and installation teams.
• Monitor stock levels and organise replenishment.
• Complete regular stocktakes and cycle counts.
• Maintain material identification and traceability.
• Coordinate supplier deliveries and collections.
• Keep stores and shop-floor storage areas clean, organised and safe.
• Operate a forklift when required, following health and safety procedures.

Job Title: Stores & Materials Controller Contract

Hours: 40 hours per week
Overtime: Midweek at 1.3x, Saturday at 1.5x, Sunday at 2x
Duration: Ongoing

We are looking for an experienced Stores & Materials Controller to join an established engineering and manufacturing business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing stock, controlling materials and ensuring components, tools and consumables are available to support production requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage goods-in and goods-out, checking deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.

Maintain accurate stock records and inventory levels.

Control engineering materials, steel components, welding consumables, tools and general supplies.

Pick, issue and prepare materials for production and installation teams.

Monitor stock levels and organise replenishment.

Complete regular stocktakes and cycle counts.

Maintain material identification and traceability.

Coordinate supplier deliveries and collections.

Keep stores and shop-floor storage areas clean, organised and safe.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a stores, warehouse or materials control role.

Overtime rates:

Midweek: 1.3x basic hourly rate

Saturday: 1.5x basic hourly rate

Sunday: 2x basic hourly rate
