Job Title: Stores Operator

Job Type: Full-Time

About Us:
Charles Thompson Ltd is a leading engineering company known for process plant design and manufacture solutions across a range of sectors including petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, agro chemical, fine chemical, utilities and nuclear. We are currently seeking a proactive and reliable Stores Operator to join our team.

Role Overview:
As a Stores Operator, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day management of materials and stock within our stores facility. You will be responsible for receiving, handling, storing, and issuing goods to support our production and engineering teams in addition to other responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials and components
  • Pick, pack, and issue parts and supplies to internal departments
  • Maintain accurate stock levels and records using in house IT systems
  • Conduct regular stock checks and audits
  • Operate forklift trucks to move goods safely around the premises
  • Liaise with production and purchasing departments to ensure timely material flow
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in the stores area

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a stores or warehouse environment within an engineering or manufacturing setting
  • Basic understanding of engineering materials, components, and terminology
  • Good attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Basic computer literacy and familiarity with stock management systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

  • Background or qualification in engineering or technical disciplines
  • Valid forklift truck license and proven experience operating a fork truck
