Job Purpose

As a Stores Operator within the Assemble, Test and Despatch area of this Mechanical Engineering organisation, the role is both busy and varied. Along with contributing to the traditional inventory function associated with warehouse management, the purpose and boundaries of this job are broader and more specialized. The Stores Operative will assist management and wider business departments with various tasks to ensure on-time delivery and exceptional customer service. The Stores Operative must work effectively both individually and as part of a team, be proactive, diligent, and able to switch tasks seamlessly. They should enjoy working on their feet in the operational space of production.

Principal Accountabilities

The scope of principal accountabilities includes:

• Goods / Receipt Inwards: Contribute to the receipt of goods within business operations.
• Storage of component parts to inventory: Store parts within inventory after inspection.
• Picking / collection of component parts: Pick parts from inventory for sales orders.
• Mechanical Seal Assembly Functions: Assist in the assembly of mechanical seals.
• Inspection / Testing and Inspection of Seals and parts: Contribute to inspection, testing, and etching of assembled seals in preparation for boxing and dispatch.
• Boxing and Dispatch Operations: Support boxing and dispatch activities.
• Stock Control and Stock Taking: Perform stock control and stock taking duties for audit purposes.
• Rectification of Stock: Help ensure inventory accuracy through stock rectification.
• General Duties: Carry out general duties within Stores and the wider business.
• Uphold organisational cultures and values: Strive to embody these in all tasks.
