Job summary

Bilfinger UK is seeking a driven Stores/Inventory Controller to join our procurement and logistics teams in Ellesmere Port. You will receip t, store and issue stock, maintain accurate records in SAP and help with audits, returns and disposals, while upholding health and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has stores experience, a forklift license (training available), basic IT skills (Word/Excel), and good communication across levels.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a Stores environment, ideally within an engineering company.
• Forklift Truck license (training will be provided if required).
• Basic IT skills such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience with SAP would be beneficial – training will be provided.
• Ability to take ownership, be passionate and take pride in your work.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally.

Responsibilities

• Protection and preservation of stock and goods receipting material on SAP.
• Receiving and inspecting deliveries to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Organising and storing inventory in designated locations and maintaining order.
• Updating stock records using inventory management systems or logs.
• Issuing materials to internal departments as requested.
• Monitoring stock levels and notifying supervisors of gaps or surpluses.
• Conducting regular stock checks and assisting with audits.
• Maintaining storage area cleanliness and safety compliance.
• Assisting with returns and disposal of damaged stock.
• Support procurement and logistics with inventory tasks.

The Role and Responsibilities

• Protection and preservation of stock and goods receipting material on SAP.

• Organising and storing inventory in designated locations, maintaining order and accessibility.
• Updating stock records using inventory management systems or manual logs.
• Issuing materials and supplies to internal departments as requested.
• Monitoring stock levels and notifying supervisors of low or surplus items.
• Conducting regular stock checks and assisting with audits and inventory reconciliation.
• Maintaining cleanliness and safety in the storage area, complying with health and safety regulations.
• Assisting with returns and disposals of damaged or obsolete stock.
• Assist in the implementation of the BUK Quality Assurance, Environmental Management System, abide and promote its Policies and Procedures.
• Willingness to assist with general workshop dutieswhen Stores activities allow.
• Supporting procurement and logistics teams with inventory related tasks.

Skills & Experience

• Experience of work in a Stores environment, ideally within an Engineering company.
• Forklift Truck license (training will be provided if required)
• Basic IT skills such as Microsoft, Word, Excel wouldbe beneficial.
• Experience of using SAP would be beneficial but not essential – training will be provided.
• Ability to take ownership, be passionate and take pride in your work.
