Job summary

In The Loop Group in Runcorn is seeking a Storeman to join its stores and day-to-day operations. You will manage stock receipt, storage and issue of equipment to engineers and project teams, ensuring accurate records and timely availability.

The role suits an organised, reliable candidate with experience in stores or warehouse roles; familiarity with stock software and health and safety practices is desirable.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Storeman, Stores Assistant, Warehouse Operative or Stock Controller role.
• Good understanding of stock control, inventory management and goods inwards/outwards.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office and stock management systems.
• Desirable: experience in fire alarm, security, electrical or building services.

Responsibilities

• Receive, check and store incoming goods.
• Maintain accurate stock records and inventory levels.
• Prepare and issue equipment, tools and materials for engineers and projects.
• Organise a clean, safe, efficient stores area.
• Monitor stock levels and reorder materials.
• Carry out regular stock checks and stocktaking.
• Check deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Liaise with suppliers, engineers and internal teams.
• Label, store and make equipment accessible.
• Assist with coordinating materials for installation, maintenance and service projects.
• Report damaged or missing items and resolve stock discrepancies.
• Follow health and safety procedures and housekeeping.
