Job summary

Lawrence Dean Recruitment is recruiting a Stores & Logistics Assistant in Letchworth to support aviation parts logistics. You will learn stock control, receive and dispatch parts, and work with a dedicated team to ensure accuracy and safety.

This full-time, permanent role includes comprehensive on-the-job training, development opportunities, and a clear path to a long-term career in the aviation industry. Typical hours are Monday–Thursday 8:30am–5:00pm and Friday 8:30am–4:00pm.

Qualifications

• Interest in aviation and willingness to learn.

• Good IT skills and ability to learn systems.
• Willingness to learn about stores, stock control, shipping and logistics processes.
• Strong communication and teamwork.

• Experience in warehouse/logistics optional; aviation knowledge beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Receiving, inspecting, storing and dispatching aircraft parts per quality and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate stock records using inventory systems.
• Assist with shipping documents, customs clearance and UK/international shipments.
• Ensure components are handled, packaged and stored correctly.
• Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders and internal teams to support deliveries.
• Assist with stock checks, cycle counts and audits.
• Learn aviation quality standards and documentation for certified parts.
• Support improvements to logistics processes and compliance.
• Participate in a shared rota for out-of-hours logistics support when required.

Youll work alongside an experienced team, developing specialist knowledge of aviation parts, stock control and international logistics while playing an important role in ensuring components are handled safely, accurately and efficiently.

Job Overview

• Receiving, inspecting, storing and dispatching aircraft parts in line with quality, safety and regulatory requirements.
• Maintaining accurate stock records using inventory management and stock control systems.
• Assisting with shipping documentation, customs clearance and the coordination of UK and international shipments.
• Ensuring components are handled, packaged and stored correctly, maintaining quality and traceability standards.

• Learning aviation quality standards and the documentation requirements associated with certified aircraft parts.

Skills & Experience Required

• The right to work in the UK.
• Previous experience is not essential, as full training will be provided. However, experience in a warehouse, stores or logistics environment would be advantageous. Any knowledge of aviation components, airworthiness documentation, customs regulations or dangerous goods would also be beneficial. A forklift licence or IATA Dangerous Goods training would be an advantage.
