Job summary

Selco Builders Warehouse is looking for an experienced Store Leader to drive daily operations, lead a great team, and uphold safety and service across the store. You’ll implement strategies that support sales growth and a brilliant customer experience while ensuring optimal labour deployment within budget.

You’ll recruit, onboard, and manage performance, empower colleagues to make decisions, and celebrate success with a strong focus on compliance, safety, and a first-class customer journey.

Qualifications

• Experience leading store operations and teams.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety procedures.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, labour, and service levels.
• Track record of delivering great customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operation of the store to ensure safe, compliant processes.
• Implement store operations strategy to support sales and customer experience.
• Deploy store labour within budget to meet service needs.
• Monitor KPIs: sales, margin, costs, and compliance.
• Act as senior on site, maintaining standards, safety and service.
• Recruit, induct, and conduct ongoing performance reviews for direct reports.
• Empower colleagues and drive ownership and accountability.
• Recognise performance and manage change with clear communication.
• Set the tone for outstanding service and resolve customer issues promptly.
• Maintain seamless experience across trade counter, warehouse, yard, and delivery.
• Follow health and safety processes and escalate incidents as needed.
• Carry out daily checks, incident reporting, opening/closing duties, and act as first aider.
