Job summary

Mandeville Recruitment Group Ltd is recruiting for a Store Manager at a premium home and lifestyle retail outlet in the UK. You will lead store operations, coach a high-performing team, and drive sales through excellent customer service and product demonstrations.

You’ll manage day-to-day activities, stock, and merchandising while delivering a consultative selling approach to achieve targets and maintain brand standards.

Store Manager – Premium Home & Lifestyle Retail

£35,000 basic salary + commission + excellent benefits

Are you an experienced Store Manager, Retail Manager or Showroom Manager with a passion for consultative selling, exceptional customer service and developing high-performing teams?

Join a leading premium home and lifestyle brand as Store Manager at its Clarks Village outlet store. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity offering responsibility for sales performance, team development and daily store operations.

The Role

You’ll lead by example on the shop floor, helping customers make informed purchasing decisions through personalised advice and product demonstrations. You’ll build a knowledgeable, motivated team that delivers a consistent customer experience while achieving sales targets and maintaining excellent operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive store sales, profitability and KPI performance, identifying opportunities to increase footfall, improve conversion and maximise sales.
• Deliver a premium customer experience through consultative selling, strong product knowledge and attentive customer service.
• Lead, coach and motivate the store team, setting clear expectations and providing regular feedback.
• Onboard new colleagues and deliver ongoing training in product benefits, customer needs and the sales journey.
• Analyse sales reports and management information, creating practical action plans to improve performance.
• Take ownership of daily retail operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, order processing and store presentation.
• Manage staff rotas and deploy team hours effectively within agreed payroll budgets.
• Control store costs and maintain commercial awareness of performance against budget.
• Oversee stock control, deliveries, stockroom organisation, weekly stocktakes and loss prevention.
• Implement in-store promotions and marketing activity, maintaining strong visual merchandising and brand standards.
• Resolve customer queries and complaints professionally, supporting customers both in store and through online web chat.
• Maintain compliance with health and safety, security, company procedures and data protection requirements.

About You

• At least three years’ retail management experience, ideally as a Store Manager, Branch Manager, Retail Manager or Showroom Manager.
• A proven track record of achieving sales targets and improving retail KPIs.
• Strong experience in team leadership, coaching, training and performance management.
• A customer-focused approach, with confidence selling through advice, demonstrations and relationship building.
• Experience in furniture, beds, mattresses, homeware, interiors, premium retail or another consultative sales environment would be particularly relevant.
• Commercially minded, with experience managing stock, staffing costs and store operations.
• An engaging communicator who leads by example and takes ownership.
• Organised, proactive and confident introducing practical improvements.
• Flexibility to work retail trading hours, including weekends.
