Base pay range

We are looking for an exceptional Store Manager to lead our Manchester team!

As a Store Manager at Lucy & Yak, you will lead, manage, and drive the success of your store by motivating and inspiring your team and building a community. You will set an example in creating outstanding brand experiences and seizing commercial opportunities. Your responsibilities include training, developing, motivating, and supporting your team to excel in daily operations and achieve store KPIs. You will ensure your store embodies Lucy & Yak’s ethics and ethos in all aspects, from visual merchandising to customer service.

What You'll Be Doing...
Leadership
  • Provide strong leadership, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Motivate and inspire your team to achieve goals.
  • Give consistent positive and constructive feedback to enhance performance, and empower your Assistant Manager to do the same.
  • Participate in recruiting, training, and developing a high-performing team.
  • Manage, support, train, and develop your team, acting as a role model for the Lucy & Yak ethos and ensuring the brand is well represented.
Customer-Centric Approach
  • Become an expert on Lucy & Yak products, sizing, sustainability, and ethics.
  • Foster a customer-focused culture, ensuring every interaction exceeds expectations and creates memorable experiences.
  • Handle escalated customer queries and issues promptly, maintaining high customer satisfaction.
Sales
  • Drive and motivate your team to meet sales targets through incentives and training.
  • Implement sales strategies with your Assistant Manager to grow sales and improve the customer journey.
Operational Excellence
  • Oversee daily store operations, including staffing, sales, visual merchandising, and administration.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are met, escalate issues as necessary.
  • Create staff rotas to ensure adequate coverage, including leave management.
  • Maintain high visual merchandising standards aligned with the brand.
  • Attend weekly and quarterly management meetings.
Stock Management
  • Manage stock effectively, working with merchandising and warehouse teams to optimize inventory.
  • Minimize stock discrepancies and ensure availability of best-selling products.
  • Implement stock management procedures, organize stockrooms, and conduct stock takes.
Financial Management
  • Analyze KPIs to inform decision-making.
  • Manage store budget for resources, equipment, and overtime, ensuring costs are controlled.
Marketing, Events & Community Engagement
  • Collaborate with the Head of Retail to execute marketing strategies, including events, promotions, and store layouts.
  • Create engaging in-store content and manage social media platforms.
  • Organize and run collaboration events in-store.
What are we looking for?
  • At least 2 years management experience in a customer-facing role.

  • Ability to motivate, develop, and coach a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven sales performance and target achievement.
  • Good understanding of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.).
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, social media applications, and till systems.
  • Resilient, proactive, and quick problem-solver.
  • Experience in mid-long term planning is a plus.
  • Fashion retail experience is desirable but not essential.
The fine print
  • Salary based on experience.
  • Location: Manchester.
  • 37.5 hours per week.
