The Store Manager is required to develop and motivate the team to provide a superior level of customer service that results in business and team success. The Store Manager is responsible for achieving store sales and maximizing profitability through effective leadership of the store team and implementation of company policies.

Key responsibilities and duties

  • Demonstrate strong business acumen through KPI’s to develop and support business driving strategies inclusive of analyzing available sales reports and data.
  • Lead team selling strategies based on expert knowledge of the productand a client-centric approach, ensure that individual sales goals inclusive of ADT, UPT and data capture KPI’s are defined and communicated.
  • Manage the business in-season balancing market awareness, product knowledge, client focus, and team dynamics.
  • Demonstrate sales leadership by supporting the sales team with sales on the sales floor.
  • Collaborate with (SSC) to identify and implement opportunities to support sales with a sense of urgency.
  • Develop events/incentives that will continue to grow the customer base, with particular emphasis on building the local market.
  • Continuously seek to enhancecustomer journey, provide expert knowledge of brand history, product and Theory for Good commitments.
  • Manage client databases; ensure the team maintains appropriate? client communication through effective use of Company supported clienteling tools.
  • Resolve all client queries and complaints quicklyand effectively.
  • Manage in store events.
  • Empower the team to make decisionsin the customer’s best interestthat also support the Company’s philosophy (Business Leader mindset).
  • Demonstrate an ability to lead dynamicand high-performing teams to achievestore and company goals.
  • Recruit, interview, train, and developstaff ensuring all positions are filled in a timely manner with qualified personnel.
  • Use companyperformance tools to evaluate each team member and provide feedback to drive individual growth and accountability.
  • Establish an individual development plan to support professional growth aspirations and talent needs; driving understanding of commercial objectives.
  • Resolve all human resources issues in a timely and effective manner, partnering with HR when necessary.
  • Support with the delivery of training programs,seminars etc.
  • Promote professionalism and effective communication ensuring that the company values are evidenced.
  • Promote a positiveworking environment and wellbeing.
  • Ensure all front and back of house procedures are understood and executed by the team in accordance with company Policy and Procedures inclusive of opening and closing procedures.
  • Oversee inventory processes to ensure shrink results consistently meet company expectations.
  • Implement tactics to manage and maintain an effective P&L strategy inclusive of controlling store expenses and maintaining budgets, continually striving to reduce costs.
  • Responsible for ensuring facility maintenance, presentation and organization of the store, partnering with Retail Operations where required.
  • Ensure cash management procedures are accurately followed including bank deposits, safe funds and petty cash.
  • Effectively manage store scheduling to ensure that the team is scheduled to maximize profitability while maintaining payroll budgets.
  • Monitor the movement of all inventory and ensure that the team adheres to all Shipping/receiving policies and procedures.
  • Ensure staff are trained in all areasof appropriate registerusage and maintenance.
  • Support, promote and assume responsibility for loss prevention in all areas of risk management, physical security, store cash controls, inventory management, inter-store communication.
  • Ensure the integrity of payroll and the payrollprocess (clock in and clock out).
  • Responsible for managing and promoting health and safety and escalating where necessary.
  • Adhere to all internal auditprocesses and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with all levels in the organization, including the executive team.
  • Implement and maintain all merchandising directives and ensure execution of effective merchandising strategies.
  • Partner with allocation and merchandising teams to ensure appropriate assortment for the store.
  • Ensure presentation of all displays,fixtures and all visual areas are reflective of current directives.
  • Effectively lead SSC store visitsdemonstrating business acumen.

Key skills and experience

  • 2-3 years of proven experience of working as an assistant store manager/store manager position ideally for a premium or luxury brand.
  • Experience working in a Department Store is a plus
  • Dynamic interpersonal and communications skills,both verbal and written.
  • Highly- motivated by driving businessin a fast-paced, innovative environment.
  • Business owner mindset with an entrepreneurial spirit; able to confidently make and suggest solutions, driving change where appropriate.
  • Independent work ethic,time management skills,and personal accountability.
  • Computer skills to operate a point of sale system,experience with teamworkis a plus.
  • Demonstrable experience of partnering with corporate stakeholders such as Buying and Merchandising, Communications, HR, and Finance.
  • KPI focused, experience of driving sales to meet or exceedcommercial targets.
  • Excellent commercial acumen, expert understanding of a retail environment and the key drivers associated including consumer purchasing behaviors.
  • Demonstrable operational skills, able to maintain store operations adheringto Company guidelines and legislative demands.
  • Excellent coaching and managerial skills,able to motivate, engage, develop,and retain employees.
  • Experience of developing store strategies.
  • Experience of delivering store training.
  • Resilient with demonstrable experience of displaying positivity when faced with challenges.
  • Demonstrable customermanagement experience, able to drive clienteling initiatives and customer experiences to meet commercial expectations.
  • Demonstrable presentation skills;able to confidently communicate store data.
  • Working knowledge of (list computerprograms we use and spreadsheets).
  • Experience of partnering with HR to manage employeerelations.
