Job summary

Tesco PLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to cover Shepton Mallet, Yeovil and surrounding areas. You’ll work with store teams and contractors to keep shops and properties safe and welcoming.

The role includes planning maintenance, performing reactive repairs and using mobile tech to record updates, all while upholding Tesco values. You’ll need an ONC or equivalent, a full UK driving licence, and a strong grasp of health and safety.

Qualifications

• ONC or equivalent qualification.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety principles.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Digital confidence, including experience using Office 365 and mobile technology.
• Commitment to ongoing learning and technical development.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with external contractors and coordinate repair and maintenance activities.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver excellent service and share knowledge.
• Manage a varied workload, balancing planned maintenance with reactive repairs.
• Support store leadership by ensuring equipment and facilities remain safe and operational.
• Deliver maintenance activities with minimal disruption to customers and colleagues.
• Ensure Tesco sites remain safe, compliant and welcoming environments.
• Follow planned work schedules for efficient repairs.
• Carry out general property and store maintenance activities.
• Use mobile technology to manage work schedules and record updates.
• Represent Tesco values by serving customers, communities and planet better.
• Contribute ideas through local and national meetings.
• Support an inclusive culture where everyone feels welcome.
