Job summary

Sainsbury's is seeking a General Merchandise Manager to lead non-food product presentation and day-to-day store operations, from shop floor to warehouse. You will drive service standards, coaching teams, and ensure KPIs are met while delivering a best-in-class customer experience.

You’ll manage people, performance, scheduling, and disciplinary matters, with responsibility for directing colleagues in the absence of senior management, and you’ll champion a high-volume, fast-paced retail

Qualifications

• A track record of delivering exceptional customer experiences, with evidence of coaching others to consistently raise the bar.
• Experience leading teams in a dynamic, customer-facing environment with focus on service.
• Ability to manage complex people matters, including performance and employee relations.
• Proven success in delivering against KPIs such as sales, stock availability and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the management of all non-food products and ensure they are presented to delight customers.
• Ensure your area runs smoothly from shop floor to warehouse.
• Manage performance, discipline, scheduling and pay; supervise and develop colleagues.
• May assume overall store leadership in the absence of more senior management to deliver for customers.
