Job summary

Asda is seeking a Duty Manager to oversee day-to-day store operations at Longsight, Manchester. You will plan and execute trading activity, maintain safety and legal compliance, and lead a team to deliver great customer service and shrink management.

The role requires experience in grocery retail, leading teams, and driving standards across departments with a focus on availability, waste reduction, and customer experience. Shift flexibility and weekend/evening work are expected.

Qualifications

• Experience as Team Leader, Supervisor or Manager in a grocery retail environment.
• Operational knowledge across food and non-food departments.
• Knowledge of improving availability, reducing waste, and managing shrink.
• Experience developing teams and managing change through leadership and building resilience.
• Good understanding HR policies and processes, and exposure to complex ER cases.
• Strong organisational skills and great customer service.
• Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Drive strategy into action: planning and executing all trading activity on the shopfloor, delivering availability standards and key metrics.
• Lead with impact: coach leadership team to deliver shopfloor standards and a customer-focused culture.
• Results-focused: ensure shopfloor and promotional activity lands to brief and on time.
• Talent development: support team development and create an environment where staff feel valued and motivated.
