Job summary

Barnardo’s Armagh Branch is seeking a Store Associate to support the Store Manager and team in a busy community shop. The role offers permanent hours (7 per week) with a competitive hourly rate and a £500 hotspot allowance, contributing to fundraising for vulnerable children.

You will deliver excellent customer service, assist with merchandising and stock management, and help volunteers run the shop in the Manager’s absence.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a customer service environment.
• Experience of cash handling.
• Experience of supervising staff/volunteers.
• Experience of working on own initiative.
• Experience of working in a fashion environment.
• Basic IT, admin and numeracy skills.

Responsibilities

• Excellent Customer Service
• Visual Merchandising
• Help to run the store when the Manager absent.
• Organising Stock, Pricing and Steaming stock before going on the shop floor.
• Ensuring Stock is generated over the door by members of the public and ensuring donors sign up for gift aid.
• Implement promotions in the store as directed by Head Office or your Area Business Manager or your Store Manager.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, organisation and cleanliness throughout the Store, including the sales floor and stockroom areas.
• Actively encourage the public to donate saleable stock.
• Rotate stock on a daily basis so that no garment remains on the shop floor for any longer than the agreed time limits.

As a Store Associate you will support the Store Manager, other Store Associates, and volunteers to help run a busy store, you will have the opportunity to develop and learn within the store.

Store Location: Armagh Branch, 21-26 Scotch Street, Armagh, Northern Ireland, BT61 7BY.
