Job summary

CBSbutler is seeking a Storage Senior SAN SME in Sheffield for an OpenShift migration project within the banking sector. You will provide technical leadership on storage architecture and operations, focusing on Pure Storage and integration with OpenShift.

Responsibilities include defining strategy, provisioning, performance tuning, DR, and collaborating with infrastructure teams to ensure containerized workloads have reliable persistent storage.

Qualifications

• Define storage architecture strategy for OpenShift clusters and workloads.
• Advise on storage provisioning, performance tuning, and capacity planning for Pure Storage arrays.
• Serve as the go-to expert for storage-related issues and escalations, including Pure Storage integration.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineers and OpenShift Architects to integrate Pure Storage solutions with compute and networking layers.
• Ensure compatibility with containerized workloads and persistent storage requirements.

Role Title: Storage Senior SAN SME

Location: Sheffield/hybrid (2 - 3 days per week on site)

Duration: 8 months+

Rate: £540 per day inside ir35

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Extensive experience in enterprise storage technologies with a strong focus on Pure Storage arrays.
• Deep knowledge of storage protocols (iSCSI, NFS, Fibre Channel) and SAN/NAS architectures.
• Familiarity with OpenShift, Kubernetes, and container storage interfaces (CSI).
• Expertise in backup, replication, and disaster recovery strategies for Pure Storage environments.
