Job summary

Mozilla is seeking a highly capable engineer to advance Storage Encryption everywhere within the Firefox engine. You will work on the DOM LWS area, migrating data across schemas, and implementing storage paths in Gecko. You will also write and run Web Platform Tests and contribute Gecko tests as needed.

Join a team focused on performance, correctness, and interoperability, guiding features through Nightly, Beta, and Release channels while engaging with standardization bodies as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong debugging and optimization in a multithreaded codebase.
• Familiarity with web standards and Web Platform Tests.
• Substantial experience in databases.
• Substantial experience in a browser-engine codebase, ideally Firefox/Gecko.
• Prior contributions to Gecko or another major browser engine.
• Familiarity with the relevant standards body and specification process.

Responsibilities

• Help the Firefox DOM LWS team implement tasks for Storage Encryption everywhere.
• Contribute to delivering Storage Encryption Everywhere in Gecko, including data schema migrations and storage integration.
• Write and pass Web Platform Tests, and add Gecko tests as needed.
• Work through code review with Gecko module owners and iterate to landing.
• Surface and resolve specification questions raised by the implementation.
• Shepherd the feature through Nightly, Beta, and Release.
• Ship Storage Encryption Everywhere to release channel and fix issues as triaged.
