Wwshemi is seeking a highly skilled C++ engineer to join the team working on Storage Encryption Everywhere within Firefox/Gecko. The role focuses on implementing cross-cutting storage encryption features, writing tests for the Web Platform, and collaborating across teams to ensure up-streamable, reviewable code.

Candidates should have strong debugging and multithreaded performance experience and be comfortable contributing in the open.

Competenze

• Strong C++ programming skills.
• Extensive experience in a browser-engine codebase (Firefox/Gecko preferred).
• Significant experience with databases.
• Familiarity with web standards and Web Platform Tests.
• Strong debugging and optimization in a multithreaded environment.
• Experience working in open-source projects, including public bugs and upstream landing.
• Nice to have prior Gecko or major browser engine contributions.

Mansioni

• Contribute to delivering Storage Encryption Everywhere in Gecko, including data migrations and storage integration tasks.
• Write and pass Web Platform Tests; contribute Gecko tests as needed.
• Collaborate through code reviews with Gecko module owners and iterate until landing.
• Surface and resolve spec-related questions raised by implementation.
• Guide the feature through Nightly, Beta, and Release, addressing correctness and performance issues.
