Job summary

Great Bear is seeking a Stock Controller for its e-fulfilment operation. The role keeps stock accuracy in a fast-paced warehouse handling beer, wine and spirits.

You will support the Receipt and Despatch teams, manage the pallet area, and ensure stock integrity with meticulous checks during night shifts (4 on 4 off, 18:00–06:00). The successful candidate will demonstrate stock control experience, attention to detail, ability to work alone and as part of a team, and proficient use of MS Office

Qualifications

• Amend pickfaces to maintain stock integrity and complete checks.
• Hold and Release process management.
• Assist in managing the pallet database.
• Investigate and report all short shipments.
• Complete daily and weekly reports.
• ODT planning with Mars and Haulier.
• Assist Stock Management with investigations.
• Handle additional duties such as handovers and damage control.

Job Description

Supporting our e‑fulfilment operation for a well-known recognised brand. The site will handle the movement of customer‑specific products, including beers, wines and spirits, within a fast‑paced warehouse environment.

You will play a vital role in maintaining the stock integrity within the warehouse. With an eye for detail and excellent investigative skills you will already have stock control experience and knowledge of WMS. Teamwork, communication and tenacity are key attributes, whilst the ability to work pro-actively on your own initiative is also vital to the success of our department.

Working hours: 4 on 4 off nights, 18:00 - 06:00

Salary: Up to £29,535 + £2,000 per annum DOE

Key Duties of a Stock Controller:

• Liaise with Management and Operational staff to ensure accuracy of received and despatched loads and amend and rework accordingly.
• Manage, in conjunction with the Receipt and Despatch Team, the problem pallet area.
• Accurately amend pickfaces to maintain stock integrity ensuring all checks are completed first.
• Hold and Release process.
• Assist in the management of the pallet database.
• Fully investigate and report accurately all short shipments.
• Completion of daily reports required on a daily and weekly basis.
• ODT planning with Mars and Haulier.
• Assist Stock Management with investigations.
• Any additional responsibilities such as handovers, missing pallet investigations, damage control and samples.

Qualifications

• Previous stock control experience.
• Flexibility within the role to cover all areas of the stock department functionality.
• Able to demonstrate a high level of detail.
• Able to manage own time to achieve daily targets efficiently and effectively.
• Team player who can also work on own initiative.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Excellent investigative and problem-solving skills.
• PC literate in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
