The Mary Lyon Centre at MRC Harwell is seeking a dedicated Cleaning and Sterilisation Technician to join our team in Oxfordshire. The role focuses on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and delivering sterilised equipment for laboratories and animal housing areas (mice).

Open-ended, full-time 36 hours per week (part-time negotiable). Training will be provided, with potential for NVQ study. The salary is £27,406 per annum with a supportive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Basic literacy and numeracy.
• Be able to use a computer competently.
• Have some previous experience in a cleaning role and be used to working in a busy environment.
• Have some experience and understanding of the importance of maintaining a clean environment.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Responsabilités

• Maintain biosecurity/cleanliness/hygiene in laboratory and admin areas to the prescribed standards.
• Maintain laboratory replenishment to satisfactory levels, including bottle filling, diet and bedding replacement, provision of sterilised equipment.
• Operate automated and semi-automated machinery such as autoclave, robotic systems and tunnel washer, troubleshooting problems as they arise and seeking advice where appropriate.
• Monitor consumables, ensuring that correct stock rotation and expiry dates are adhered to.
• Read and adhere to local Standard Operating Procedures and risk assessments.
