Job summary

The Sterile Services Unit at Glangwili General Hospital, part of Hywel Dda University Health Board, is seeking a dedicated technician to prepare, sterilise and deliver ward and theatre packs, while maintaining EC 93/42 accreditation. Full training is provided, including for applicants without prior sterile services experience.

Responsibilities include decontaminating instruments, documenting procedures, and supporting a fast-paced team.

Qualifications

GCSE passes or equivalent education.
NVQ Level 3 in decontamination or equivalent experience.
Experience working within a quality management system for decontamination.
Experience dealing with customers.

Responsibilities

Prepare, produce, sterilise and deliver ward and departmental procedure packs.
Prepare and sterilise theatre and day theatre instrument sets.
Decontaminate surgical instruments and endoscopes for the health board and external customers.
Maintain EC Directive 93/42 EEC accreditation through documentation and procedures.
Follow departmental work instructions, technical files and tray contents lists.
Be a member of the Sterile Service team and cover on-call duties when competent.
