Job summary

Sodexo is recruiting a Sterile Services Department Assistant at Hereford County Hospital. You will clean, check, pack and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment to the highest standards, supporting clinical teams in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires accuracy, teamwork and attention to detail, with PPE use and safe handling of trays and equipment. The job is on-site at Hereford County Hospital, offering a supportive team and opportunities for training.

Responsibilities

• Processing, checking and packing medical instruments.
• Using correct manual handling techniques when lifting trays, theatre bins and stock.
• Working in areas with exposure to bodily fluids with PPE.
• Operating sterilization equipment and using T DOC tracking to input new trays, track equipment and create barcodes.
• Receiving, storing and supplying consumables to wards and departments.
• Supporting ward top up services for sterile items.
• Maintaining a safe, clean working environment and reporting defective equipment.
• Working as part of a supportive team to deliver a high-quality service.
