Job summary

Cheshire East Council is seeking Step-Forward Foster Carers to welcome a child or sibling group into their home, providing stability, routine and emotional support.

This full-time role pays £1,000 per week per child, up to £52,000 per year, with a 50% retainer pre-placement; additional payments for holidays, birthdays and celebrations are provided.

You will receive specialist training plus access to peer networks and ongoing support from social workers and therapists.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years old.
• Right to Work in the United Kingdom.
• Able to provide full-time care for a child or children.
• Must have a spare bedroom(s) for fostering.
• Experience with children, young people, or adults with complex needs is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-time care for a child or sibling group leaving residential care.
• Offer stability, routine and reassurance in a nurturing home.
• Support emotional, behavioural and social development of the child.
• Collaborate with social workers, therapists and other professionals.
• Keep clear records and provide therapeutic, relationship-based care.
