Job summary

Cheshire East Council is seeking a Step-Forward Foster Carer to welcome a child or sibling group into your home, offering stability and belonging. You will provide consistent care, support the child’s development, and work closely with social workers and therapists to ensure their safety and wellbeing.

The role includes a weekly fostering allowance per child, additional payments for birthdays, holidays, and religious celebrations, and a training and supervision framework to support you

Qualifications

• Must be 21 or over (no upper age limit).
• Must have the legal Right to Work in the United Kingdom.
• Must be able to provide full-time care for a child or children, with at least one carer present when applying as a couple.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-time care for a child or sibling group moving from residential care.
• Offer stability, routine and reassurance in a nurturing home.
• Support the child’s emotional, behavioural and social development.
• Collaborate with social workers, therapists and other professionals.
• Keep clear records and provide therapeutic, relationship-based care.
