Job summary

British Steel, based in Scunthorpe, seeks a Design Draughtsperson/Design Engineer to produce detailed 2D and 3D drawings for structural and mechanical projects. You will develop fabrication and assembly drawings for workshops and contractors, supporting engineers from concept to implementation.

The role operates in a fast-paced industrial environment, contributing to safe and efficient plant operations within one of Europe’s largest steelmaking complexes.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical/Structural/Design Engineering or related discipline.
• Significant experience in engineering design/draughting environment.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed 2D and 3D engineering drawings for structural and mechanical projects.
• Develop fabrication, assembly and general arrangement drawings for internal workshops and external contractors.
• Support Design Engineers from concept through to implementation.
