Job summary

CareerMakers Recruitment in Chesterfield is seeking Fabricator/Platers. The role involves reading engineering drawings, marking out materials, and preparing steel for fabrication. You will cut, drill, grind, bend, and assemble components, fabricating and welding steel to specifications.

The position runs Monday to Friday with shifts 6am–4:30pm (Friday 12:45 finish). Pay rate is £16–£17 per hour, DOE.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Experience with fabrication and welding of structural steel
• Capable of using workshop tools safely and effectively

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, measure and mark out materials for fabrication
• Cut, drill, grind, bend, fit and assemble components using workshop tools
• Fabricate and weld structural steelwork to required specifications and tolerances
• Use lifting equipment and workshop machinery safely
• Inspect finished work and ensure it meets quality standards
