We are seeking a Statutory & Regulatory Accountant to join a global natural resources company on a 12-month rolling contract. The primary responsibility of this role is to support accounting, regulatory reporting, statutory accounts, and audit management.
Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Manage accounting, reporting, and finance activities in accordance with internal control procedures.
- Prepare,analyze, and submit:
- Regulatory reporting: Monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the Regulator, Secretary of State, and lenders.
- Annual regulatory reporting pack, including reconciliation with statutory accounts.
- Monthly trial balances to the Secretary of State and handle related queries.
- Draft financial statements for reporting to the Secretary of State for each semi-annual period, year-end (March), and for the months ending December, April, and May.
- Monthly income statements, balance sheets, and financial position reports to Eni HQ and other stakeholders.
- Quarterly actuals using Hyperion Mastro/PCFM, including additional Mastro forms for half-year and year-end.
- Year-end financial statements and detailed analyses of selected items according to IFRS and requirements.
- Ensure timely and efficient reporting to the Regulator, License authorities, Lenders, and internal team.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations and accounting schedules for designated accounts, including intercompany accounts.
- Contribute to the setup of accounting and reporting systems and reports in line with HQ, regulatory, and project financing requirements.
- Develop and maintain internal control and effective accounting systems and policies.
- Liaise with other sections within the Finance department and other technical and supporting departments to support CCUS business activities.
- Provide constructive advice on accounting perspectives to resolve operational issues.
- Ensure compliance with Accounting Procedures and the Regulatory framework.
- Support monthly and yearly accounting closing processes and statutory and regulatory audit processes.
- Participate in CCUS Project-related activities as directed.
Education & Professional Qualifications:- Master's degree in Accounting, Economics, Business Management, or equivalent (essential), OR
- Professional qualification (ACCA, CA, CIMA, or similar) with a strong understanding of international and statutory accounting principles.
- Extensive experience in senior accounting and finance roles within the oil & gas or energy industry (essential).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and proficiency in SAP (essential).
