South Western Railway (SWR) is seeking a Rail Operator 2 (S) GPR to lead a team of station assistants, ensure a safe, welcoming environment, and keep areas clean and well presented. The role requires you to travel to various stations and have your own transport for shifts.

You will be the face of SWR, delivering excellent customer service and maintaining safety standards across the station. Shifts include early, late and night schedules; average 37 hours per week over 5 days.

Qualifications

• Must be able to travel to your work location within 60 minutes
• Qualified to operate a motorised vehicle with access to your own vehicle
• Strong customer focus with good interpersonal skills
• Team leadership ability with supervisory experience desirable
• Able to distinguish colours with normal colour vision

Responsabilités

• Lead and direct staff in providing safe, courteous, helpful service at all times
• Maintain a safe, clean and well-presented customer environment as per cleaning schedules
• Undertake emergency procedures and evacuations when required
• Maintain signing on/off records for staff and ensure staff are fit and presentable
• Handle short-notice absences and sickness coverage
• Safely dispatch trains from the platform with clear passengers
• Attend to station and customer needs, ensuring quality and safety standards
