Job summary

TXM Recruit has a fantastic opportunity for a practical Station Service Technician based in the East Midlands. This 6-month contract role involves maintaining and dilapidation tasks across multiple railway stations, with travel between sites.

The position pays £19 per hour (CIS) and offers 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday, with potential for extended days and varied site coverage. A full clean driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Practical and hands-on experience in handyman, maintenance, construction, facilities, or a similar environment.
• Good attention to detail and pride in delivering a high standard of work.
• Able to work independently across multiple locations and manage tasks effectively.
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible, including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional approach when working around the public.
• Full clean driving licence essential due to travel between multiple stations.
• Comfortable working outdoors and in a variety of environments.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general handyman, repair and dilapidation works across multiple railway stations.
• Complete minor carpentry, painting, decorating, plastering and making-good tasks.
• Repair and maintain walls, floors, doors, fixtures, fittings and station furniture.
• Identify and report defects, hazards and maintenance issues.
• Keep platforms, walkways and public areas safe, clean and presentable.
• Support station refurbishment, closure and reopening works where required.
• Follow all railway safety procedures, rules and safe systems of work.
• Carry out planned, reactive and winterisation works as required.

If so, TXM Recruit are working in partnership with a high-profile railway client who are looking for a Station Service Technician based in East Midlands on a 6-month contract basis paying £19 per hour (CIS).

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a practical, hands-on background who enjoys working independently, travelling between different sites and carrying out a variety of maintenance and dilapidation tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contract: 6 month (ongoing)
• Pay Rate: £19 per hour (CIS)
• Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, with the option to work longer days Monday-Thursday and have Friday off.
• Driving Licence: Full clean licence essential
• Travel: Multiple station locations.
