Job summary

Great Western Railway (GWR) is seeking a hands-on Station Operative to maintain and present our stations across the Oxford and Didcot patch. You’ll work outdoors, use power tools, help with events and community engagement, and carry out small DIY projects to keep our stations welcoming for customers.

You will join a small team, have a 35-hour week with a rotating early/late roster, and receive full training. A full driving licence and a company vehicle are provided for travel between stations.

Responsibilities

• Providing excellent customer service to our customers using our stations
• Undertake litter collection at unstaffed stations
• Bin management/poster updating
• Vegetation clearance
• Graffiti removal
• Repairs and general maintenance tasks
• Ensuring station presentation is maintained to a high standard
• The role will involve the use of power tools, including hedge cutters and strimmer's and application of chemicals, such as weed sprays etc.
• Full training will be provided.
