Job summary

Cambridge Maintenance Services is seeking a Static Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias) to perform planned and reactive maintenance on commercial building services across a nationwide portfolio. The role focuses on mechanical systems, fault-finding, and safe operation of plant, with support for basic electrical and fabric tasks as required.

You will collaborate with the Contracts Manager and engineering team to maintain pumps, boilers, HVAC equipment and other mechanical assets,

Qualifications

• Recognised mechanical or building services qualification (City & Guilds/NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent).
• Proven mechanical maintenance experience in commercial buildings or facilities management.
• Strong knowledge of pumps, motors, valves, pipework and related mechanical plant.
• Experience with planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs.
• Good understanding of HVAC systems and general building services.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and building fabric maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across mechanical building services and related plant.
• Maintain, service and fault-finding on pumps, motors, valves, pipework, boilers, HVAC plant and related systems.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and perform repairs to minimise downtime.
• Undertake general plumbing maintenance including pipework and water system repairs.
• Assist with basic electrical and fabric maintenance within competence.
• Carry out routine plant inspections, identify defects and recommend corrective actions.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and maintenance requests with safe, efficient solutions.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and colleagues to minimise disruption.
• Complete accurate service reports and maintenance records using tablet or CAFM.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety procedures and regulations.
