RSK Group’s Non-Destructive Testing Services (NDT) in Nottingham is hiring a Static Load Test Engineer. This full-time, permanent role involves independent site testing, driving between sites in a specialised HGV fleet, and use of TITAN automated pile testing equipment.

You will be trained at the Nottingham office with on-site mentoring and opportunity for progression within a growing NDT team.

Qualifications

• Experience on construction sites and willingness to travel in the UK.
• CSCS card is preferable but not essential.
• UK class 2 HGV licence or willingness to train to obtain one.
• Familiarity with TITAN pile testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Undertake static load testing on piles using TITAN equipment.
• Drive HGV vehicle to site locations.
• Erect tests using a lorry-mounted crane.
• Perform site work with TITAN testing systems.
• Liaise with the site agent to review drawings and piles tested.
• Contact NDT office to commence the test with the qualified controller.

Job description

Non-Destructive Testing Services (NDT) an RSK Group company are recruiting for a Static Load Test Engineer to join the team based in Nottingham, UK. This is a full-time, permanent position.

The Role

NDT operate nationally for many of the UK’s major piling contractors. We have an exciting opportunity for you at NDT to become a Maintained Static Load Test Engineer using industry leading TITAN automated pile testing equipment. The successful candidate will be fully trained at our Nottingham office and will ‘buddy’ with someone for onsite training and experience.

The successful candidate will be based from Nottingham and travel to sites in one of NDT’s specialist HGV fleet vehicles fitted with lorry mounted crane which is used for independent reaction frame erection from other site operations.

What you can expect in the Pile Test Engineer role:

• Overnight stops in hotels for most jobs as testing is typically 19hrs (overnight) so operational requirements dictate What you'll be doing as our Pile Test Engineer:
• Undertake static load testing
• Driving of HGV vehicle to site
• Erection of test using Lorry Mounted Crane
• Undertaking site work using automated TITAN pile testing equipment.
• Liaising with the site agent upon arrival to site to go through site drawings and confirm piles tested
• Contacting the NDT office for the authorised test controller to commence the test

What We're Looking For In Our Pile Test Engineer

• Aptitude to work independently and as part of a team
• A willingness to contribute ideas and suggestions
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication is essential to the role.
• Self-motivated, with diligence, integrity and ambition.
• Willingness to travel around the UK (including regular overnight stops)
• Adherence to our technical and operating procedures with a strong sense of health and safety awareness Qualifications/Certification
• Previous site experienceCSCS card is preferable but not essential Desirable
• UK class 2 HGV driving license (NDT will put the candidate on a training package and fund training to obtain Class 2 HGV license if this skill is not already held by the candidate)
