Masstemps invites applications for an experienced TIG Welder to join a busy manufacturing team near Tamworth. You will weld stainless steel and other materials to drawing specifications, set up equipment, inspect welds and maintain quality finishes.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a TIG Welder within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Strong TIG welding experience, particularly on stainless steel, is preferred.
• Ability to produce clean, high-quality welds with good attention to appearance and consistency.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding specifications.
• Good understanding of welding preparation, consumables and equipment settings.
• Experience working with sheet metal and fabricated components is desirable.
• Able to inspect own work and maintain high-quality standards.
• Good attention to detail and ability to work accurately to production requirements.
• Reliable, hardworking and able to work independently or as part of a busy fabrication team.

Responsibilities

• TIG weld stainless steel and other materials to produce high-quality fabricated components.
• Set up and operate TIG welding equipment to the required specifications.
• Weld components accurately to engineering drawings, weld procedures and job specifications.
• Prepare materials and components prior to welding, including cleaning, cutting and joint preparation.
• Produce neat, consistent welds while maintaining high standards of quality and finish.
• Carry out visual inspection of welds and identify any defects or areas requiring rework.
• Use appropriate welding consumables, tooling and equipment for different applications.
• Work with a range of sheet metal and fabricated components, maintaining required tolerances.
• Complete basic finishing and fettling of welded components where required.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area and follow all company health & safety procedures.
