Burnhouse Engineering & Fabrication Ltd in Beith, North Ayrshire, seeks an experienced stainless steel TIG Pipe Welder for an indoor workshop role on a 3‑month temporary contract. You must be able to pass a coded welder test to BS EN ISO 9606-1 and demonstrate excellent workmanship.

Responsibilities include TIG welding 304L/316L pipework, reading fabrication drawings and isometrics, preparing, fitting and tacking pipework, and delivering clean welds.

Qualificações

• Proven experience TIG welding stainless steel pipework.
• Ability to pass coded welder test BS EN ISO 9606-1.
• Full UK driving licence.

Burnhouse Engineering & Fabrication Ltd is a growing fabrication and pipework contractor specialising in stainless steel and carbon steel systems across food & drink, pharmaceutical, industrial and process sectors. We manufacture and install high-quality pipework, skids, vessels and structural fabrications throughout the UK.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Stainless Steel Pipe Welder to strengthen our workshop and site team. With new work coming in, we need an experienced Stainless Steel TIG Welder to join us ASAP.

This is a hands-on indoor workshop role, working on high-quality stainless steel pipework and fabrication projects. We're looking for a skilled TIG welder who can demonstrate excellent workmanship and is confident in passing a coded welder test to BS EN ISO 9606-1.

What You'll Be Doing:

• TIG welding stainless steel pipework – primarily 304L and 316L.
• Welding thin-wall stainless steel and hygienic tube.
• Carrying out purge welding to a high standard.
• Preparing, fitting, aligning and tacking pipework.
• Reading and working from fabrication drawings and isometrics.
• Producing clean, high-quality welds to specification.
• Completing a welder coding test to BS EN ISO 9606-1.
• Supporting workshop fabrication and, where required, site installation work.
• Working safely and maintaining excellent standards of workmanship.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Proven experience TIG welding stainless steel pipework.
• Strong pipe fitting and fabrication skills.
• Experience with thin-wall stainless steel.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and isometrics.
• High standards of workmanship and attention to detail.
• Ability and willingness to pass a coded welder test to BS EN ISO 9606-1.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

• Current or previous BS EN ISO 9606-1 Manual TIG coding.
• Purge welding experience.
• Pharmaceutical, food-grade or hygienic pipework experience.
• Orbital welding knowledge.
