Job summary

Charcoalblue LLP is seeking a Theatre Consultant – Technical System Designer focused on Stage Lighting to join our UK team. You will design, document, and commission Stage Lighting systems across projects, collaborating with theatre designers, acousticians and engineers to deliver bespoke solutions.

You’ll contribute to drawings, specifications, cost projections, and site visits, with occasional international travel and a pathway for role-specific inductions and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Minimum four (4) years’ experience as a stage lighting designer or technician.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience as a technical systems designer or in designing stage lighting systems.

Responsibilities

• Produce drawings, specifications and reports for projects; support senior team members.
• Draft emails, letters, reports and budgets with minimal administrative support.
• Meet with clients to evaluate lighting and network system needs; present holistic design solutions.
