Job summary

Charcoalblue is seeking a Venue Design Consultant to lead venue design across world theatre projects, working with clients, architects and consultants from early concept to commissioning. You will shape look, form and spatial planning for front of house, backstage and technical spaces.

The role reports to the Theatre Consulting EMEA leadership, with inductions and ongoing support. It is UK-based with a flexible, hybrid setup and opportunities to travel for projects globally.

Qualifications

• Three years of design experience in architecture or theatre projects.
• Proficient CAD (2D/3D) with visualization and hand sketching.
• Strong IT literacy: MS Office and Adobe Acrobat.
• Interest in culture and performing arts.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide venue design alongside experienced designers and team leaders.
• Develop design proposals, sketches, drawings, and schedules.
• Meet clients to discuss briefs and project requirements.
• Ensure design proposals meet technical and regulatory requirements.
• Travel for UK and international projects as needed.
