Job summary

The Stepstone Group is recruiting a Staff Software Engineer to own technical direction across Talent Profile, Company Profile and Salary Products. You will guide architecture, ensure quality, and lead on critical engineering initiatives across three teams.

You will collaborate with Engineering Directors, Product Directors, and Principal Engineers to align delivery with domain goals while mentoring engineers and fostering a culture of innovation across the engineering organisation.

Qualifications

• Staff-level engineering background with deep expertise in .NET, Java, TypeScript and React.
• Experience designing large-scale distributed systems on AWS with secure development and enterprise architecture.
• Strong frontend expertise and knowledge of microfrontends, API integration, and observability.

Responsibilities

• Lead domain-level technical initiatives and stay hands-on in the codebase.
• Collaborate with engineering and product leaders to simplify domain complexity.
• Drive engineering maturity across the domain and organisation via the Chapter structure.
• Mentor and lead the engineering community to improve delivery speed and quality.
• Strengthen architectural, engineering, and security health, while nurturing engineering culture.
