Marks & Spencer's Software Engineering team invites you to join a historic brand shaping its digital future. In the International Pricing group, you’ll design and build robust, scalable backend systems and integrations that support stores and online markets across borders.

You’ll mentor engineers, lead complex projects, apply DevSecOps at scale, and champion security, observability and performance while collaborating with product and architecture teams.

Qualifications

• Proven track record building backend systems with focus on scalability and reliability.
• Strong grasp of software engineering principles and patterns.
• Experience with automated testing across unit/integration/system levels.
• Hands-on DevSecOps experience at scale in enterprise environments.
• Proficiency in Java, PL/SQL and JavaScript with modern CI/CD tooling.
• Experience designing cloud-native apps prioritising performance, observability and security.
• Excellent communicator and mentor to engineers at all levels.
• Knowledge of AI/ML tools and GenAI applications in the SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test and debug high-quality software solutions.
• Provide technical leadership on complex projects.
• Lead design and implementation of scalable software and integrations.
• Conduct thorough code reviews for quality and maintainability.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to solve business challenges.
• Mentor engineers and foster growth across the team.
• Drive operational excellence through monitoring, incident management and learning from production events.
