Job summary

Marks & Spencer is seeking a senior software engineer to join the International Pricing team. You will develop, test and deploy robust backend services and integrations that scale across stores and online markets outside the UK and Ireland.

You will lead technical design, code reviews and collaboration with architecture teams, while mentoring engineers and driving operational excellence through observability and incident management.

• Proven track record building high-performing backend systems and integrations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test and debug high-quality software solutions, leading by example and championing engineering best practices across the team.
• Provide technical leadership on complex projects, ensuring software solutions align with technology strategy and standards.
• Lead design and implementation of scalable software solutions and third-party integrations with Architecture teams.
• Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure maintainability, automated testing coverage and quality.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to understand business challenges and deliver effective technical solutions.
• Mentor engineers at all levels, sharing knowledge and fostering growth.
• Drive operational excellence through monitoring, alerting, incident management and learning from production events.
