Job summary

Deliveroo PLC is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Event Streaming Systems in London. You will lead the event streaming infrastructure powering multiple marketplaces, partner with cross-functional teams, and drive reliability and scalability at global scale.

You will shape the technical direction, mentor engineers, and own critical platform decisions across Deliveroo, DoorDash and Wolt. Hybrid work model offered with strong emphasis on engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience building, operating and evolving distributed systems in production.
• Hands-on with Kafka or comparable event streaming systems.
• Ability to define direction, roadmaps and lead multi-engineer initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Define technical vision and roadmap for event streaming and messaging platforms.
• Lead cross-team initiatives for Kafka, EventBus and streaming infra.
• Advise on platform decisions across Deliveroo, DoorDash and Wolt.
• Design durable systems and reduce operational risk.
• Lead incident resolution, performance tuning and capacity planning.
• Mentor engineers and promote best practices.
