Job summary

Addepar is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Alternatives Data Management team in Edinburgh. You will own end-to-end delivery of multi-month initiatives, lead design of new products, and mentor engineers while writing scalable code across distributed services.

The role requires a strong ownership mindset, independent work style, and experience with AWS, Terraform, and gen AI for coding. Visa/work authorization in the UK is required; sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Extensive software engineering experience.
Track record of leading technical initiatives from design through delivery.
Comfortable working independently, with a bias for action.
Strong ownership mentality and drive to solve the most important problems.
Excel at written and verbal communication.
Experience with financial services or wealth management operations.
Experience with object-oriented programming.
Experience with AWS or another cloud platform.
Experience with IaC (infrastructure as code), preferably Terraform.
Experience with gen AI for coding.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end delivery of complex ADM initiatives spanning multiple teams.
Lead technical designs for new products and workflows, aligning with strategy.
Write exemplary, scalable code and frameworks.
Promote best engineering practices.
Serve as primary technical contact; collaborate to resolve complex issues.
Mentor engineers and shape their development.
Communicate technical strategy clearly to engineering and non-engineering stakeholders.
