Job summary

Addepar seeks a Staff Software Engineer for the Alternatives Data Management team in Edinburgh. You will own delivery of multi-month initiatives, design scalable data products, and mentor engineers across the ADM stack. Visa eligibility applies; sponsorship is not available.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, write performant code, and promote engineering best practices while advancing AI-powered data workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Extensive software engineering experience.
• Track record of leading technical initiatives from design through delivery.
• Comfortable working independently with a bias for action.
• Strong ownership mentality and drive to solve important problems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience with financial services or wealth management operations.
• Experience with object-oriented programming.
• Experience with AWS or another cloud platform.
• Experience with IaC (Terraform).
• Experience with gen AI for coding.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-month ADM initiatives.
• Lead technical designs for new products and workflows; build consensus.
• Write high-performance, scalable code and frameworks.
• Promote best engineering practices across teams.
• Act as primary technical contact; collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Mentor engineers and shape their technical development.
• Communicate strategy, trade-offs, and direction to stakeholders.
