Job summary

Ocho People Ltd. is recruiting a Director of Software Development to lead the R&D team building a novel AI agent security platform.

You will shape the four-plane architecture into an executable strategy, owning engineering execution, talent, quality and delivery for a platform serving regulated enterprises. You will collaborate across VP of Software Development, Product Management, Architect and Security teams, moving fast while upholding cryptographic and regulatory rigour.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of software development experience, including leadership across multiple teams.
• Track record delivering enterprise-grade cloud or security products from concept to production.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, APIs, cloud platforms, secure development and DevSecOps.
• Experience leading products with stringent security, privacy, availability or regulatory requirements.
• Ability to influence senior leaders and resolve cross-functional conflicts in ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute development strategy, org design, delivery model and technical roadmap for the platform.
• Translate product and architecture priorities into funded plans with measurable outcomes and clear release commitments.
• Own delivery quality, reliability, security, cost and engineering productivity.
• Establish planning, dependency management, design review, testing and release readiness mechanisms.
• Guide development of cloud-native services, APIs, SDKs, authorization components and tamper-evident evidence systems.
• Embed secure development, threat modelling, privacy, observability and third-party assurance into lifecycle.
• Build production ownership with SLOs, incident response and root-cause analysis.
• Make build-versus-buy decisions and manage technical debt and platform risk.
• Hire and develop a high-performing, inclusive engineering organisation with clear career paths.
• Communicate progress, trade-offs, dependencies and risks to executives and stakeholders.
