Job summary

Wayve in London is seeking a Staff Robotics Engineer for the AV Core organisation to lead fault detection and fallback systems for driverless operation. You will work with ML experts to build robust robotics software and contribute to core safety capabilities.

You will mentor teams, drive architecture decisions, and ensure robust integration into the shared driving stack, with access to large-scale training data and fleet evaluation.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of staff-level technical leadership.
• Experience with Python and C++ for robotics.
• Exceptional technical judgement and communication, with ability to make safety-relevant trade-offs explicit.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical strategy for fault detection and fallback in robotics systems.
• Design and train fault detection mechanisms for driverless operation.
• Collaborate across ML, software, and hardware teams.
