Job summary

Focused is seeking an experienced Staff Platform Engineer to lead client engagements and drive platform engineering across cloud and observability domains. You will architect IaC, manage Kubernetes, and build robust CI/CD with strong telemetry and incident response practices.

The role emphasizes collaboration with clients, guiding teams, and delivering scalable, observable infrastructure. London-based, hybrid model with in-person presence up to four days a week.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Platform Engineering or DevOps experience.
• Proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, CDK).
• Strong experience with CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, ArgoCD).
• Hands-on with AWS, GCP, Azure and container tech (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of networking, security and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Augment infrastructure with integrated observability solutions.
• Architect and manage Kubernetes clusters with monitoring and logging.
• Build CI/CD pipelines with embedded observability and automated testing.
• Establish SLIs/SLOs/SLAs and support incident response and post-mortems.
• Deploy observability across AWS, GCP and Azure and govern telemetry data.
