Job summary

Nuffield Health Glasgow Hospital is seeking an experienced Pre-Op Assessment Staff Nurse to join our bank roster in Glasgow. This ad-hoc role offers flexibility to fit your availability while contributing to high standards of patient care.

You will perform pre-operative assessments, document history, support the multi-disciplinary team, and be the first point of contact for patients slated for surgery. Benefits include a competitive pay rate up to £25 per hour, with evening and weekend shifts as

Qualifications

• Pre-operative assessment of patients undergoing various operations.
• Knowledge of history taking, understanding procedures, health assessment and holistic care.
• Ability to work as part of a close-knit, matron-led team in a consultant-led service.
• First point of contact to make accurate assessments for patients before surgery.
• Demonstrate broad knowledge base and strong assessment skills.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Operative assessing patients undergoing a variety of operations.
• Assist with history taking and health assessment in pre-op clinics.
• Support the team to ensure safe, holistic patient care pre-surgery.
• Act as first point of contact for patients scheduled for procedures.
• Contribute to continuity of patient care across the service.

As an Pre-Op Assessment Staff Nurse, you will:

• Pre Operative Assessing patients undergoing a variety of operations.
• We require you to have a good knowledge of history taking , understand the variety of procedures performed , health assessment and promotion and treat the patient in a holistic manner that incorporates a thorough assessment of the patients health condition , social circumstances and post operative recovery .
• Be part of a close-knit team delivering matron-led care in a consultant-led service
• As the first point of contact you will work with leading talent and professionals to make the right assessments for patients prior to their surgery
• Demonstrate a broad knowledge base and assessment skills to ensure patient care
• Fully understand and support the needs of each patient and their family
• Offer comfort and reassurance, providing the highest standards of care
• Build your experience across new practices, equipment and facilities
• Work with practitioners in other areas, understanding that continuity in patient care is key
