Mountbatten Hampshire is seeking a part-time Staff Nurse to join our hospice team, delivering patient-centred palliative and end-of-life care across a multidisciplinary environment. This 22.5 hour weekly role includes nights, lates, earlies, and weekends on a planned rota, with compassionate support for patients and families.

You must be a Registered Nurse with current NMC registration and demonstrate commitment to CPD.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate part-time Staff Nurse to join our hospice team. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver person-centred care that promotes dignity, comfort and quality of life, ensuring patients receive exceptional support throughout their hospice journey. Part-time - 22.5 hours a week - you must be able to commit to a variety of shift patterns including nights, lates, earlies, Bank Holidays and weekends on a planned rota basis. You will be responsible for providing symptom management and complex end of life care to patients living with life limiting conditions. You will be able to make a real difference to peoples lives every single day, supporting our patients and their families. You will also be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence based patient care and for providing invaluable support to the patients family., Overview of Role To ensure the highest standards of individualised care for patients with life threatening diseases including providing support to their families and carers in a safe, friendly and efficient environment. To communicate with patients, families and carers in a sensitive and empathetic way maintaining effective communication with multi-disciplinary team members. To work part of a multi professional team with professional shared learning under the supervision and guidance of nurses and medical teams. Although based on our Inpatient Unit, post holders may occasionally be required to work in other teams to ensure adequate staffing levels and to gain experience of the wider hospice delivery of care. Key Tasks To provide the highest standards of care to patients. To lead on and coordinate assessment, planning and evaluation of individualised patient centred care. Ensure that you always act in the patients best interests, taking personal responsibility for actions and decisions taken. Provide a holistic approach to all care provisions provided that is both sensitive and responsive to the patients ever changing needs. To provide out of hours specialist advice by telephone to patients, carers and allied professionals as required, alerting them to any significant matters. Give and receive regular reposts on the progress of patients, reporting immediately any changes in the patients condition to the senior nurse/medical personnel as duty as required.,

• Physical capable carrying out manual handling duties as required by this role

  You will be a Registered Nurse with current NMC registration, who is able to demonstrate a commitment to their own CPD.
• Able to work shift patterns on a rota basis including nights, weekend, bank holidays
• Able to make effective use of available resources to benefit the patients and Mountbatten
• Ability to deal with complex and difficult emotional situations, Experience of dealing with vulnerable adults in a care setting
• Experience of working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and the ability to form good working relationships at all levels
• Awareness of palliative care issues
• Experience of working in a Hospital/Hospice care setting, Understand specific needs of patients requiring palliative or end of life care
• Demonstrate commitment to the patients right to be involved in decision making relating to their health care and ensuring decisions are understood by care teams
• Ability to be an effective advocate for the patient with multi-disciplinary teams across all healthcare settings
• Able to effectively manage own time and case load, 1st Level Register Nurse with current NMC registration
• Revalidation of NMC Registration
• Demonstrate commitment to continuing professional development
• Clinically up to date in general nursing care

You will have excellent clinical skills and experience and be able to work under supervision and on your own initiative to provide the highest standards of care and support to your patients and their families. You will have good communication skills, with sound experience of symptom management gained with a Hospice/Hospital or Nursing Home environment. You will be willing to learn new skills and expression to develop your own practices.,
