Job summary

Garden House Hospice Care is seeking Registered Nurses with a passion for patient-centred care to support patients with life-limiting illness and to assist families and carers both in the Inpatient Unit and in patients’ homes.

The role involves mentoring new staff, coordinating the Inpatient Unit/Hospice at Home services, and working with the multidisciplinary team to deliver personalised care. A full UK driving licence and business-use car are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with all members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure collaborative working for the benefit of patient care
  • Provide a high standard of personalised and on-going after care for bereaved families and friends
  • Provide mentorship and preceptorship to new starters, newly qualified staff and students and to encourage an effective learning environment
  • Supervise and co-ordinate the running of the Inpatient Unit/ Hospice at Home service, in the absence of senior staff

Job description

This role is for 36 to 37.5 hours a week.

A full UK driving licence and a car with insurance cover for business use is essential for this role.

We are Garden House Hospice Care, the Hospice for North Hertfordshire. We are a multi award-winning hospice that puts the patient at the heart of everything we do. Patients on our inpatient unit are looked after by our specialist team 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We provide support and care to patients with a wide range of symptoms associated with a life-limiting illness, as well as their families. We support our patients by providing symptom control, psychological support and end of life care. Our high nurse-to-patient ratio ensures that patients are able to get the dedicated support that they might need.
