Job summary

Optimum Care Group is recruiting a Staff Nurse (Nights) for Aughnacloy House, Lurgan. The role involves delivering high-quality nursing care during 3 x 12‑hour night shifts (8pm–8am) while ensuring accurate records and compliant practice.

You will lead and support night‑shift staff, maintain documentation, liaise with families and the MDT, and commit to ongoing professional development and policy adherence.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse on Part 1 of the NMC Register (Adult).

Responsibilities

• Provide high standard of nursing care.
• Keep records according to company and legal guidelines.
• Direct ancillary staff in delivering care and assist with personal care as needed.
• Participate in staff training and appraisals.
• Adhere to Health & Safety and Manual Handling policies.
• Communicate effectively with residents’ families and the multidisciplinary team.

Duties

Main duty is to provide a high standard of Nursing Care.

• Ensure all records are kept as per company and legislative guidelines.
• Direct ancillary staff in the provision of a high standard of care and assist with personal care duties as appropriate.
• Assist with staff training.
• Comply with company policy in promoting Primary Nursing.
• Ensure all company policies are adhered to, including Health & Safety and Manual Handling.
• Maintain good channels of communication with resident families, Multi-disciplinary team and others as appropriate.
• Attend staff meetings and training as required.
• Adhere to NMC Code of Professional Practice, keep abreast of nursing developments and pursue continuous professional development.
• Participate in staff appraisal as applicable.
• Follow company policy for action to be taken in the absence of Manager.
